updates from the factory floor!
July 12, 2024: Portland Fire Department’s new 100′ Ascendant Aerial Tower’s cab completed initial assembly and was installed on the frame. The transverse compartment was fabricated and began the paint process. The torque box arrived and was stage, and both the front and rear body modules completed paint.
July 19, 2024: In this report the Portland FD Aerial Tower’s transverse compartment completed paint while the torque box was being installed on the chassis. The front body nodule completed initial assembly and the rear body module began initial assembly.
July 26, 2024: Portland Fire Department’s new Pierce Aerial’s torque box was completed and merged with the chassis. The transverse compartment was staged and the front body module remained staged. The rear body module completed initial assembly.
August 2, 2024: In this report the Portland FD Aerial Tower’s transverse compartment and rear body module were merged with the chassis while assembly continued. The front body module remained staged for install.
August 9, 2024: Portland Fire Department’s new Pierce Aerial’s front body module was installed and the apparatus began final assembly.
August 15, 2024: In this report the Portland FD’s apparatus continued assembly in an offline area. In the next report, assembly may continue.
August 23, 2024: Portland Fire Department’s new Pierce apparatus completed final assembly and was staged for aerial arrival.
August 30, 2024: In this report the Portland FD’s apparatus remained staged for aerial arrival.
September 6, 2024: Portland Fire Department’s new Pierce apparatus remained staged while the aerial device arrived and began initial assembly.
