Salem Fire Department’s new Pierce Ladder is now in production in Appleton, Wisconsin! This low profile 100′ aerial will ride on an Arrow XT Chassis with a Cummins X15 565hp motor. Check out the latest from the factory floor as this fire truck goes through the build processes.

updates from the factory floor!
April 21, 2023: The new cab for Salem FD’s new ladder is just getting started with the fabrication processes on the factory floor and should continue through next week.
May 1, 2023 : Now that the new cab has finished up the fabrication processes, it is getting ready for the paint process.
May 5, 2023: Salem’s cab continued through paint with undercoat and starting the red and black. The body was fabricated this week and staged for paint.
May 15, 2023 : The transverse compartment were fabricated and was staged for paint while the cab made progress.
May 21, 2023: Salem’s cab made progress through paint and was staged for initial assembly. The traverse body is staged for paint.
May 29, 2023 : This week the transverse compartment began the paint process, The cab remained staged for initial assembly and the body staged for paint.
June 5, 2023: In this week’s report, the apparatus’ transverse compartment continued the paint process. The body may begin the paint process next week, while the transverse compartment continues it!
June 26, 2023: The cab started initial assembly while the transverse compartment and the body remained staged.
July 3, 2023: This week cab remained staged to continue initial assembly, and the transverse compartment and the body remained staged.
July 29, 2023: Since the last report, the cab and body began initial assembly, the frame build began, and the body completed the paint process! Next week the frame build and the body’s initial assembly may continue.
August 12, 2023: This week the body was merged with the chassis! Final assembly of the Arrow XT Ladder apparatus has begun, and initial assembly of the aerial device will begin next week!
August 19, 2023: This week the apparatus completed final assembly! next week initial assembly of the aerial device should begin!
August 25, 2023: This week the aerial device began initial assembly. Next week the aerial device may be pinned to the apparatus, followed by the start of aerial testing!
September 1, 2023: This week the aerial device continued initial assembly. Next week it may complete assembly, be pinned to the apparatus, and start aerial testing.
September 8, 2023: This week the aerial device continued initial assembly. Next week it may complete assembly and be pinned to the apparatus, followed by the start of aerial testing!
September 23, 2023: This week the aerial device was pinned to the apparatus. The apparatus completed testing, and moved on to quality and graphics. Salem F.D.’s new Pierce Arrow XT is almost complete! Congratulations!
