Brockton Massachusetts Fire Department’s new Aerial Tower is underway at Pierce Manufacturing in Appleton Wisconsin as one of three upcoming new apparatus for the city of champions! This one features the Enforcer Chassis and the Ascendant class 100′ Tower. Check out the progress below and come back for weekly updates!
February 24, 2024: Brockton Fire Department’s new Aerial Tower began production this week! The cab began fabrication, which will continue next week.
March 1, 2024: This week the cab continued fabrication. This process may be complete next week, followed by the start of painting!
March 10, 2024: This week the cab completed fabrication and began the paint process! Next week this will continue.
March 15, 2024: This week the cab completed paint and began initial assembly. The transverse compartment and rear body module began fabrication, and the front body module began the paint process! next week the transverse compartment may complete fabrication!
March 23, 2024: This week the transverse compartment completed fabrication and began the paint process, and the rear body module completed fabrication! Next week the rear body module may begin the paint process.
April 6, 2024: We’re excited to share the latest progress! The cab has completed its initial assembly, and the frame build is underway. The transverse compartment has emerged, freshly painted, while the torque box is prepped and waiting in the wings. Both the front and rear body modules have not only finished painting but are also staged for the next steps.
Looking ahead, we anticipate the cab may stay in its current phase, while the frame build progresses steadily. The transverse compartment is expected to be staged next, and the torque box is gearing up for its initial assembly. Meanwhile, the front body module may continue to hold its position, and the rear body module is set to kick off its initial assembly.
April 14, 2024: This week the cab was installed on the frame, and the torque box and rear body module began initial assembly! Next week the torque box may be installed on the chassis, and the rear body module may continue initial assembly.
April 20, 2024: This week the torque box, transverse compartment, and rear body module were merged with the chassis, and the front body module began initial assembly! Next week the front body module may be installed, while the apparatus continues initial assembly.
April 27, 2024: This week the front body module was installed while the apparatus continued final assembly. Next week final assembly may continue.
May 4, 2024: This week the apparatus completed final assembly and was staged! It may remain staged next week.
May 11, 2024: This week the apparatus remained staged in preparation for the aerial device pin. Next week it may remain staged.
June 1, 2024: This week the aerial device arrived and began initial assembly! Next week the aerial device may be pinned to the apparatus followed by the start of aerial testing.
June 11, 2024: This week the aerial device completed initial assembly and was pinned to the apparatus, followed by the start of aerial testing! Next week aerial testing may be complete followed by the release to quality and graphics.
June 15, 2024: This week the aerial testing completed and the apparatus was staged to begin the quality and graphics process, where any remaining content will be applied. Once finished it will be made ready for customer acceptance inspection!
