Pump Service

The Pump Service is the annual inspection for pumper apparatus. It covers 41 inspection points in total: the same 27-point chassis inspection from the Chassis B Service, plus 14 pump-specific items that cover the pump body, valves, primer system, hydraulic controls, and pump certification testing.

Pumper Service Checklist

Cab interior and controls (inspection sticker, glass, DEF, starter, lights, air system, parking brake, HVAC, wipers, horns, seats, switches)
Exterior body (body damage, exterior lights, door latches, fuel system, battery, cab mounting)
Tires and wheels (visual inspection, tread depth, pressure, lug nut torque)
Engine and fluids (oil, coolant, belts, hoses, power steering, brakes, exhaust)
Pump body and housing - cracks, leaks, or damage
Pump oil level and condition
Pump packing glands and seals - leaks
Pump engage / disengage mechanism operation
Pump pressure relief valve operation
Discharge valves - proper operation and leaks
Suction inlet screens and strainers
Tank-to-pump valve operation
Pump primer system operation
Pump transfer valve operation (if equipped)
Pump panel gauges and indicators - accuracy
Pump discharge pressure at rated flow (certification test)
Cavitation or unusual vibration during pump operation
Foam system proportioner and valves (if equipped)
